7-month seafood export rises 13.3%
VGP - Việt Nam exported nearly US $2.5 billion worth of seafood in the first 7 months of this year, gaining a year-on-year increase of 13.3%, according to the General Department of Việt Nam Customs.
The country pocketed US $624 million from seafood exported to the EU, up 5.5%; US $459 million to Japan, up 18.4%; and the United States US $418 million, up 11.5%.

Key exports included prawns, pangasius tra and basa, squids, octopuses, fish and fish products.

The seafood export value in July was US $466 million, up 16.8% against June.

Việt Nam has exported seafood to 53 markets. The products are much favored in Asia.
