Seafood import value by Viet Nam in Jan-May 2010 increased by 8.51 percent
According to the statistics of Viet Nam Customs, in May 2010 the country’s seafood import value reached approximately US$21.72 million, pushing total seafood import value in the first five months of 2010 to nearly US$120.49 million.
In Jan-May 2001, Taiwan, Japan and Indonesia were the three biggest suppliers of seafood for Viet Nam. Import from Taiwan reached US$23.77 million, accounting for 19.73 percent of the country’s total seafood import value, up 83.95 percent year-on-year. Import from Japan amounted to nearly US$11.1 million, accounting for 9.21 percent, up 29.39 percent and import from Indonesia netted US$10.72 million, representing 8.90 percent, up 52.08 percent.
