At Soc Trang province, there have nine enterprises of processing exporting seafood which have been in lacking material seriously… Many companies need helps from agents of neighbouring provinces, up to the central provinces supplying material but these local places have not been comfortable because they have to supply to local foundations. According to Vietnam Association of Seafood Producers and Exporters, the situation of lacking material shrimps has begun at the middle of December, 2009. Some enterprises have the petition to import material shrimps to complete the exporting contract.

The first reason has been at some provinces, the crop of shrimps has passed, although the price has increased, fishermen have not shrimps for sale. On the other hand, the area of feeding sugpo prawn at the provinces of the Mekong River Delta has been reduced during this time.

Lacking material sugpo prawn has been a lesson during these years for enterprises to operate to process seafood. The consequence has been the mass problem, workers have a pause, reduce income and many people have to resign from their job. Many enterprises have to have enough material shrimps for processing, including importing the material shrimps (while the price of material shrimps in the world has been in a high level) in order to ensure the order forms which have been signed. When they have material, they have been afraid of lacking of manpower because they have been off work or have been off work before…

The reality has showed that, in order to the source of stable producing, we have to build and widen the area of durable material shrimps has been obliged with the Mekong River Delta. The urgent problem that we have to reproduce, limit the situation of unprompted feeding, coming to the concentrated feeding the large scale with the investment of capital, technology; strict management the input and output, checking the output and the quality, logical adjusting the source of material for factories. At once, processing enterprises have a strong attachment the fishermen of shrimps, sharing the risk and the profit in order to create the stable and durable source of material.
