From the beginning of December up to now, the price of material sugpo prawn at Ca Mau has increased continuously that helps fishermen to have interest, continuing to maintain and to develop the area of feeding.

Now, sugpo prawn of 20 ones/kg with the price 200,000 VND/kg, increasing from 21,000 to 25,000 VNĐ/kg compared with the beginning of month; 30 ones/kg with the price 135,000 VNĐ/kg, increasing 16,000 VNĐ/kg, 40 ones/kg with the price 100,000 VNĐ/kg, increasing 12,000 VNĐ/kg.

At the end of the year has been the time that has been advantage for exporting seafood. However, many enterprises of processing exporting seafood at Ca Mau lacking material, reducing the power of activities and this situation has been forecasted that could have been lengthening before and after the New Year festival because of heated competition, finding to buy the material shrimps among the factories at the Mekong River Delta when the source of material shrimps has not been enough for the demand of processing and exporting for factories. The cause of lacking material shrimps has been fishermen have not enough shrimps for sale because this has been the period of improving the ponds for the next crop; at some regions, fishermen have changed to feed eel, gudgeon and some kinds of seafood that have the other economical quality, in this reason the area of feeding shrimps has been reduced.

In order to solve the situation of lacking material shrimps, beside concentrating on purchasing the total source of shrimps in the province, the enterprises have been deploying to import the material shrimps for processing and exporting, processing the other seafood like cuttle, fish… maintaining the activities of the factories, solving the job, stabilizing the life for workers at the beginning months in 2010.
