Put difficulties for self and each other
Mr. Vo Dong Duc, Director of Can Tho seafood joint-stock company ( Caseamex) said that two bigest seafood import markets of Vietnam is the United States and EU are reducing strongly in quality and price. Meanwhile, in order to export, many enterprises take advantage to sell with low price in some new markets, especially in the U.S. Because of having the zero tax rate, some enterprices exporting pangasius to this market sell with the price of 2,3 – 2,4 USD a kilogram, this is the lowest price from past till now

Raising Pangasius bases on Global GAP standard
On November 23, Mr. Le Thanh Dung, Chairman of Hoa Hung pangasius co-operative ( in Tien Giang province ) said that without nearly 20 hectares raising pangsius base on SQF process ( safe quality food ) are being done and underwritten by Hung Vuong joint-stock company ( in My Tho industrial zone, Tien Giang province ), in next time, co-operative will raise to investigate the pangasius base on the Global GAP standard on area of 8 hectares. These pangasius are raised with process of stringent technique, ensure to access the origin from breeders, feed, management of remedy, treatment of waste water for environmental hygiene and underwritten to process products provide to supermarkets in Europe ( Chau Thanh )

“ On the occasion, the importers try to make the price reduction, price squeeze. Therefore, in September, though seafood exported into the U.S up 1.9% in quanlity, it is down 26.7 % in quality over the same period of last year. Some enterprises who ask for a excessive reduction, so they must refuse the agreement. Though stocks are left so many. Mr. Vo Hoang Long, director of Tran Chau seafood company ( HCM city ) said that they had made an offer in many markets, but, they are received the request “ reduce price and then buy “, even somewhere request reducing …50%

The pressure due to raisers and fishers
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Sac, deputy chairwoman of Vietnam association of seafood exporters and producers ( VASEP), said that basing on domestic materials’ price, the enteprises can not reduce the price any more. Though the difficulties in finance makes the consumption of this products in many markets reduce strongly, the raisers and fishers in our country also get a enormous pressure because of petrol’s increased price, therefore, the raisers leave the pond, the fishers limit to put out to sea…, it makes source of materials limited. Some enterprises just buy about 80% materials over the proccess power. “ Agreeing to reduce the export price means creating the chain pressure for domestic raisers and fishers…” Ms. Sac said

With the same opinion, Mr. Phan Ba Tong, director of Thien Ma seafood export-import company ( in Can Tho city ) said that reducing is not the good way in this condition and the export enterprises will face to new price squeeze. Mr. Tong affirmed that volumn of seafood in hundreds of markets where this enterprise export to still keep the old price, even the Pangasius increase 5-10 cent a kilogram

Admitting with the pangasius material price now ( 14.800- 15.200 VND a kilogram ), the raisers are losing . deputy minister of the agriculture and rural development ministry Luong Le Phuong said that the most difficult thing is that without Russia, no countries can set up steering committee to supervise for quality and quanlity as well as build the coordinating price, ensuring the enterprises and raisers can get profit
