The US could camcel the anti-dumping tax of Viet Nam shrimp
More likely, Vietnam will be cancelled the anti-dumping tax after the review will take place in beginning of 2010

This idea is affirmed by lawyer Kenethe J. Pierce, the head of the Defense of international trade and Washington custom ( USA ) at seminar of  “sunset review for the anti-dumping with frozen shrimp of Vietnam that import to the U.S “ held in HCMC on November 15th .

The lawyer Keneth J. Pierce added that Viet nam has many advandages in giving reason of recession and difficulties for shrimp industry in the U.S that the Vietnam enterprises didn’t cause this completely.

Additionaly, the frozen shrimp products of Vietnam exporting to the U.S are raised mainly in natural conditions and Vietnam’s range of anti-dumping is lower than other countries.

However, limitation for the Vietnam shrimp export enterprises now is often not attend all  lawsuits, not determine in cancelling the anti-dumping tax in period of sunset review

This is the first review for shrimp as well as the best opportunity for Vietnam to get a minimum export tax. Expense of a sunset review up to 400.000 – 600.000 USD

According to Vasep, the final administrative review of the Vietnam frozen shrimp export to the U.S from February 1st 2007 to January 31st 2008 has finished and got many good results

These results have many chances compared to the preliminary result given at March of this year when more enterprises exporting Vietnam shrimp got the anti-dumping tax with rate of nearly 0%

The noticeable thing is the anti-dumping tax for three mandatory defendants include : the Minh Phu, Camimex and Phuong Nam join-stock company all reduce with the lowest price- nearly 0%

Mseafood Corporation, a subsidiary company of Minh Phu company in Ca Mau province is also returned over 4,2 millions USD of deposit in the U.S for reviewing the anti-dumping tax of the import shrimp in beginning of year

Since 2003, applying anti-dump tax for frozen shrimp of the U.S made the companies joined in this market reduce in number because of the very high surcharge. Particularly for Vietnam enterprises, the anti-dumping tax of frozen shrimp sometimes up to nearly 26%.
