According to statistics of Vietnam Custóm, seafood export of Vietnam reached 466 million USD in July, 2010 up 16.8% over June, 2010. Export value to EU was 109 million USD, up 17.8%; to the US was 95.7 million USD, up 44.3%; and to Japan was 90.1 million USD, up more than 11% compared to last month.

Year to date, fisheries production of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province has reached 157,083MT, of which aquaculture production amounted to 5,482MT.

Vietnam last week filed a lawsuit against the U.S. imposition of antidumping tariffs on its frozen shrimp with the World Trade Organization (WTO) panel in Geneva, Switzerland.

So far, farmers in Vinh Chau have harvested shrimp on areas of 6,671 ha, out of the total shrimp farming area of 23,557ha.
